Yuvraan's POV
Twelve years is long enough, I have found, for most men to forget almost anything. It is not long enough for me to forget the particular smell of smoke clinging to sandalwood, or the sound my grandmother's voice made when she gave her first order as head of this family with my mother's body not yet cold in the next room. I was twenty-two years old that night. I am thirty-four now. In between, I have built and broken more men than I could name if you gave me the whole of this morning to try, and not one of them has ever cost me a single hour of sleep. Baldev Devraj's name, by contrast, has cost me twelve years of it.
